we like models like this one... keep 'em coming!
The Food Basket is a multi-farm drop box program that brings together some of the best farmers in Vermont to provide high quality vegetables, fruits, meats, cheese, eggs, maple syrup and flowers, to families who live and work in Chittenden County. Developed in collaboration with growers, the Food Basket strives to meet the needs of busy consumers while providing a strong market for local growers.

The Food Basket began as part of the Intervale Center's Food Hub Project, a grant funded project that seeks to develop ways to help farmers market their products. The Food Basket is modeled after traditional Community Supported Agriculture programs, where people in the community pledge to support a local farm by becoming members or “shareholders” of the farm. Members pay in advance and receive weekly shares in the farm’s harvest throughout the growing season, providing the farmer with a consistent market.
Developed in collaboration with growers, the Food Basket program unites multiple farmers who together build shares for the consumer. With this program, you will benefit from receiving a wide variety of fresh food products from farms around the state, conveniently delivered to your workplace!
