Grange Future

In 2017 Greenhorns produced a multi-facted and multi-media project called “Grange Future” which traced the politics, songs, economic legacies, and the cultural fabric of the Grange Movement in the United States. “Grange Future” was a community history project showcasing Granges as models for futurist, family-farm oriented community actions that hold a strong basis in economic theory, resistance, and cooperation.

With this project, Greenhorns gleaned the organizational wisdom encapsulated in decades of agrarian organizing.

We produced a vinyl record with Brian Dewan, available in our webstore
This record was recorded entirely in Grange halls (you can occasionally hear a snow plow) in the Adirondacks of New York, thank you to the Whallonsburg Grange and Ausable Forks Grange.
We have a little teaser for free here.
