Conference Opportunities and Celebrations:

-- The 9th Annual Clarence Burch Award and 2010 Recognition Awards for Outstanding Leadership in the Radical Center will be presented during the Friday evening Awards Banquet. We are proud to honor the achievements of The Altar Valley Conservation Alliancewith this year’s Clarence Burch Award ($20,000). Our Radical Center Awards honor Tom and Mimi Sidwell, JX Ranch (Ranching); Dan Taylor, Bat Conservation International(Conservation); Maryann McGraw, New Mexico Environment Department – Surface Water Quality Bureau, Wetlands Program (Civil Service); and Dr. Christine Jones (Research).
-- The Michael S. Currier Environmental Service Award, administered by the New Mexico Community Foundation and sponsored by the Thaw Charitable Trust, honors individuals for their contributions to the environmental health of the American Southwest. This year the award will be presented to Courtney White, author and co-Founder of the Quivira Coalition at a reception and ceremony on Thursday, November 11, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in conjunction with the Quivira Coalition’s 9th Annual Conference. A production by award winning documentarian Jack Loeffler, will highlight the success of Courtney’s contribution to the health of working landscapes in the American Southwest.
