Poultry Processing Workshop at Glynwood (NY)

Saturday, June 25, 9:30am – 4pm at Glynwood Farm (Cold Spring, NY) - $60, registration and advanced payment required

This all day workshop by Jim McLaughlin will teach you the necessary skills to process poultry on your own farm. Conducted in both classroom and in Glynwood’s onsite poultry processing facility, students will learn:

* proper techniques for processing poultry
* information on health, sanitation and safety issues, and HACCP
* correct methods for handling, packaging, and storing the poultry
* equipment necessary for processing poultry

The morning session is conducted in the classroom and will cover health, sanitation, HACCP, legal issues and an overview of proper equipment. The afternoon session is hands-on and participants will learn the proper techniques for humane processing as well as techniques for packaging, sale and storage.
