Course Description
This is an advanced, whole farm planning course for existing farmers/ranchers. As a Level II course it assumes that you have already developed a whole farm, business, or marketing plan and are ready to take it to the next level.
What It Includes
The course focuses on assessing, revising, and improving current plans using your current farm financial data. After performing a SWOT analysis and goal review/revision process, you will conduct an overall financial analysis of your farm. You will then pick one enterprise to expand/improve or begin and perform a financial and market assessment of that enterprise. You will leave the course with an implementation plan for this season; an improved food safety plan for your farm/ranch and the knowledge and skills to assess the viability of other farm enterprises you may want to improve or start.
Who Teaches It
Course instructors Diane Green (Greentree Naturals, Sandpoint, ID), Mary Rohlfing (Morning Owl Farm, Boise ID), Ariel Agenbroad (UI Canyon County Extension and Cinda Williams (UI Latah County Extension) have all taught the introductory level Cultivating Success whole farm and business planning courses. Instructor Craig Madsen (Healing Hooves, Reardan, WA) is a certified Holistic Management educator and focuses on planning for profit from a Holistic Management standpoint.
