nyc csa seeking berry farmer
The Southside CSA is looking for a farmer(s) to do a berry share for this upcoming 2010 season.
The Southside is located on the southside of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. They are entering their second CSA season and are partnered with the amazing Martin & Gaudencia Rodriguez from MimoMex Farm in Goshen, NY. All sorts of info can be found on their blog: www.southsidecsa.wordpress.com (currently being updated from 2009).
Distribution is on Monday evenings at 48 S.4th st, just north of the Williamsburg Bridge between Kent & Wythe. Produce may be dropped off anytime after 3pm or a more flexible drop off may be negotiable.
They currently offer a limited fruit share called the Orchard Share, running for 18 of their 22 week season. It starts late in July covering mostly the peach, plum, apple and pear harvests. Their members love getting strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and cherries so would like to broaden the fruit share to also include a berry share. Thus, they are looking for farmers who would be interested in offering berry or cherry shares through their CSA.
