CIW LAUNCHES NEW FAIR FOOD LABEL
The Coalition of Immokalee Workers and the Fair Food Standards Council have officially released a label to help shoppers identify which tomatoes come from ethical farms. This is BIG news for farmworker justice in the fields and beyond. Starting this month, the label will be available to all grocery stores and restaurants to participate in the CIW's highly respected Fair Food Program, which - after much organizing - now shapes more just sourcing policies for 12 retail giants, including McDonald's, Whole Foods, Subway, Chipotle, and Walmart.
