Cultivating Edible Mushrooms!
Learn how easy it is to grow and harvest your own mushrooms!

BREMERTON - Learn how easy it can be to grow your own mushrooms in the workshop, "Cultivating Edible Mushrooms" to be held at the Norm Dicks Government Center from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, June 9, 2012.
The hands-on class offered by the WSU Kitsap Small Farms Team and Fungi Perfecti of Shelton, WA, will include mushroom cultivation, types of edible mushrooms, and how to inoculate your own logs.  Each class participant will receive 50 Shiitake Mushroom plugs to take home.
"Edible mushroom cultivation is a great way for small woodland owners to use up some of those small hardwood logs they have on their property!" according to Arno Bergstrom, Director of WSU Kitsap Extension.  "Rather than cutting it up for firewood, grow some mushrooms!"
Cultivating Edible Mushrooms will take place from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Norm Dicks Government Center, 345-6th Ave, Bremerton, WA.  The cost for the workshop is $40 per person and pre-registration is required.  Register at the WSU Kitsap Extension office or online at http://county.wsu.edu/kitsap/.  For information please contact Diane Fish of the WSU Kitsap Extension Small Farms Team at 360.337.7026 or [email protected].
