help fund food chain!

Posted: April 16 2012

An important documentary-in-progress about farm workers.  Check out their kickstarter page

FOOD CHAIN explores the state of labor within the agriculture sector in the US and the immoral practices that affect the lives of countless thousands of farm workers.
WHY YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT: We have spent 8 months on the road, logging over 400 hours of footage to expose the incredible injustice in our food system, particularly toward the hands that pick our food. With the help of dozens of incredible farm workers and people like Eric Schlosser, Bobby Kennedy Jr., Dolores Huerta, Barry Estabrook, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, and the UFW we've gotten to the heart of our farming system and the dirty, vicious secrets no one wants anyone to know.
We've tapped out our own savings and need $27,000 more to pay a world-class editor to make a 70-80 minute film that we hope will change the way we all look at food and freedom. This $27,000 will ensure that we have a film to show and share. We have heaps of bills, but who cares? We don't mind delaying those payments and being broke to get this film made. This film is about all of us, and without all of you, it cannot be made.
For the first time in our nation’s history, we hold the power to help hundreds of thousands of people to free themselves from some of the worst human rights abuses - all committed so that we may eat. This film will provide the inspiration and tools to make those changes. Thank you for your help.
