We are looking forward to the upcoming Food, Farms, and Community Institute at Sterling College--less than three weeks away! -- and I wanted to keep you up to date on the schedule and highlights. As always, an updated schedule can be found at the Sterling College website (www.sterlingcollege.edu/ruralheritage). As you'll note, the majority of sessions are scheduled so that all attendees can participate. In a few instances, you will need to choose which event or workshop you plan to attend. You do not need to pre-register for these, but just keep in mind that some will be limited by available transportation - for instance, each of the field trips to Jasper Hill Farm (www.jasperhillfarm.com) and High Mowing Seeds (www.highmowingseeds.com) on Tuesday, June 16th, will be limited to approximately 20 people.
We have also just launched a blog - at http://ruralheritageinstitute.blogspot.com/ - that will be highlighting parts of the Institute in the weeks and days leading up to our opening session on the 16th. Please visit regularly for the latest updates. I would encourage any participants who are interested in contributing to the blog to let me know and we can grant the appropriate permission so you can contribute entries. We will also be blogging during the Institute and integrating digital video and photography to connect what we do in Vermont to an ongoing global dialogue about local foods, agriculture, and economy.
