Each day, 22 percent of New York City’s children are hungry and do not know when they will eat next, while their families lack the resources to provide dependable and nutritious meals on an ongoing basis. Ample Table for Everyone focuses on combating food insecurity in the five boroughs of New York City.
ATE is inviting preliminary proposals from nonprofit organizations for projects, programs, and/or new models that enable families in New York City to find sustainable ways to assure consistency in their food intake, with an emphasis on healthy eating.
ATE’s goal is to identify and fund projects that address at least one of the major causes of food insecurity, which include lack of time; lack of money; lack of access to nutritious food; and unfamiliarity with a variety of ingredients, cooking methods, and recipes. Successful applicants will offer ideas that are innovative, effective, replicable, and/or expandable.
Preliminary proposals must be completed no later than December 15, 2015. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit full proposals, which must be returned by March 1, 2016.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the ATE website.
