APPRENTICESHIPS FOR 2012 SEASON –
Blue Star Farm is a “Certified Naturally Grown” farm. We are located about a half hour south of Albany in Stuyvesant, NY.  We farm 3 active acres at this location and four in Kinderhook, NY.  We have one large hightunnel (30x96) for season extension. We raise organic vegetables and cut flowers. Currently, we attend two local farmer’s markets and sell wholesale to coops, farms, healthfood stores and yoga institutes.
Internship starts: May – October/November 2012. There are two full-time seasonal apprentice positions available. Candidates will ideally have some prior farming experience. Work will include all aspects of farm production, seeding, planting, weeding, harvesting, washing and packing. Work schedule is 5 days per week with the possibility of extra hours if desired. Compensation is hourly at $9.00/hour.  We prefer a farm visit/trial work half day sometime during the hiring process.  At this time, we do not have housing.
