In response to the recent massive egg recall, Animal Welfare Approved is pleased to announce that it will make its consulting services available at no charge to any farmer wishing to start up a pasture-based egg operation. Reminder: AWA Good Husbandry Grants Deadline Coming Soon
AWA is now accepting proposals of up to $5,000 to improve farm animal welfare, focusing on increased outdoor access, improved genetics and improved slaughter facilities.
Current AWA farms and farms that have applied to join the AWA program, as well as slaughter plants working with AWA farmers are eligible to apply. Please see the AWA website for complete details on this year's funding priorities, eligibility requirements and profiles from previous projects.
