the young farmer success act of 2015!

Posted: June 3 2015

Big news from the National Young Farmers Coalition! The Young Farmer Success Act of 2015 (H.R. 2590) has been introduced in the House by Representative Chris Gibson (R-NY) and Representative Joe Courtney (D-CT) with the goal of adding farmers to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Under the program, farmers who make 10 years of income-driven student loan payments would have the balance of their loans forgiven. This program already covers a number of other public service professions, including government service, teaching, and nursing.

The Young Farmer Success Act has support from a broad coalition of nearly 100 farming organizations including the National Farmers Union, Future Farmers of America, and Farm Aid.
Now we need your support.
