EVENT LINK: 2020 VIRTUAL PERENNIAL FARM GATHERING

(Dec. 6-9, registration coming soon)

This winter, tune into the 2020 Virtual Perennial Farm Gathering. Co-hosted by the Savannah Institute and the Association for Temperate Agroforestry, this event will gather farmers, scientists, entrepreneurs and many more to learn from one and other about perennial farming.

"Mark your calendars for our first ever virtual Perennial Farm Gathering, December 6th-9th. In a year of social distancing, we believe the Perennial Farm Gathering will be more important than ever to help bring the perennial agriculture community together. This year's conference will feature 5-minute show-and-tell nutshell talks, interactive networking opportunities, and presentations on financing agroforestry, environmental and social justice, specific agroforestry crops, and more. Though we will all miss the in-person aspects of the gathering, we hope that our online version of the PFG will provide new opportunities to increase participation, lower costs, and build community during these challenging times."

The Savannah Institute is a non-profit organization laying the groundwork for widespread agroforestry in the Midwest US. Through research, education and outreach, they are working toward a system of agriculture "based on agroforestry systems of integrated trees, crops, and livestock and fostering ecological resilience, climate stability, economic prosperity, and vibrant communities".

Additionally, the Savannah Institute offers agroforestry apprenticeships throughout the Midwest for aspiring farmers. To learn more and get updates on future apprenticeship opportunities, visit their website here.
