Scrumpy Farm, located 30 miles east of Portland, OR, is seeking to build a farmer cooperative on 38 acres of mixed pasture, old field and forest land.  The cooperative would consist of several start-up farmers, each operating a small farm business at Scrumpy, and sharing knowledge, resources and marketing outlets with each other.  Working with the cooperative would enable farmers to strategically build and test a small farm business, and enable them to save capital for future land ownership and business independence. We are in the very initial stages of planning, and seeking to work collaboratively with farmers to design the cooperative and plan the integration of farm enterprises using permaculture principles.
