National Call-In Day February 14th

Call the White House Today: Fairness and Justice for Farmers!

In the 2008 Farm Bill, Congress passed new rules to protect livestock and poultry farmers from unfair treatment by big meat companies. The companies are now pressuring the administration not to implement the new rules. It's time to tell President Obama that big meat companies should play fair so
our family farmers can stay in business.
Join a national call-in day to the White House! Here's how:
1) Between 9am and 5pm EST, call the White House at (202) 456-1111.
2) Tell them your name, where you're from, and then simply ask that "President Obama finalize and implement the fair livestock marketing rules that USDA proposed from the last Farm Bill."
3) You can report your call on the form on this page:

The companies at the top of our food chain penalize small and midsized farmers just for being smaller by paying them worse prices than they pay the big guys. When farmers and ranchers speak out, they risk losing their contract with the company, often the only buyer in their area. Congress outlawed these unfair practices in 2008, but the Obama Administration hasn't implemented the new rules yet. We can't wait any longer. We need fairness and justice for farmers NOW.
Our goal is to generate thousands of calls to the White House today in support of a better food system. Please call today and tell your friends!
