internships at native hill farm
Native Hill Farm is a diversified intensive vegetable farm located just north of Fort Collins, Colorado cultivating the freshest and highest quality naturally grown produce for our neighbors. We grow high quality vegetables using innovative and sustainable growing practices with a focus on passive season extension techniques.
We are in our fifth year of cultivation and we are honored to be growing healthy food for our community. We sell our produce to committed local restaurants in Old Town, the Fort Collins Food Co-Op, through our Wednesday farm stand at Beaver's Market, the Old Town Farmers Market, and through our Unique Market CSA, Fall CSA Program, and Spring CSA.
Internships for 2013
We are currently accepting applications for internships for the 2013 growing season here at Native Hill! These positions are for folks that have always wondered what it would be like to run a small scale agricultural operation as an economically viable enterprise. These are entry level positions geared towards gaining experience with growing food from seed to sale in the Northern Colorado climate. As an intern on the farm, not only will you be exposed to all aspects of vegetable production but you will also gain insight as to the inner workings of a family run, diversified vegetable operation. Although you will work very hard, sometimes for long hours, we hope that our interns will complete the season with an idea of what it takes to run a market farm, a firm knowledge base from which to continue on their agricultural path, and a deep satisfaction for the work they have accomplished.
All positions start April 1st and run through Nov 15th.
Experience in the following areas will be gained:
- Field work: harvesting, transplanting, weeding, pruning, trellising, thinning, managing irrigation systems, pest control, and other tasks

Fort Collins is the self proclaimed microbrewery capital of the U.S. If you can't find a preferred locally brewed beverage here, you probably don't like beer. The farm is located 15 minutes from the mouth of the Cache La Poudre canyon which has world class boating, excellent hiking trails, and great sport climbing. It is also within a 10 minute drive to both State, County, and City run parks that offer great bouldering, mountain biking, and trail running.
