here is a press release
any of you reporters out there want to cover the Rose Parade?
it's not simply "farming" anymore.
The FFA will be featured on the 75-foot-long RFD-TV float in the Jan. 1 Tournament of Roses parade, saluting that organization’s role in developing careers for youth.
A feature before that date might be a timely way to remind everyone that agriculture today makes the best use of technological advances, and that FFA members are preparing for careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture.
The float will feature:
· Three gigantic sculptures depicting members of FFA (formerly Future Farmers of America) engaging in agricultural, educational and developmental activities,
· More flowers (19,000 just on the deck)
· More different types of spices, seeds, fruits and produce items
· One item from each state
As you know agriculture is often wrongly perceived as simply “farming.” Today career options for young people include:
· Agriculture economist
· Research scientist
· Marketing or PR professional for agriculture industry company
· Attorney for agriculture company
· Broker covering agriculture
· Manufacturing
We can help line up interviews with your local FFA State President, any of the national FFA officers or representatives from RFD-TV.
