Penn State Extension, Schuylkill County is seeking an individual who will function as a team member of the Penn State Extension State Horticulture Team, working directly with statewide faculty and staff. The individual represents Penn State and the College of Agricultural Sciences in interpreting, applying, and disseminating the latest research findings in Ornamental Horticulture and Vegetable and Small Fruit Production.
They will also serve as the local contact person for the State Tree Fruit and Grape Team. Major responsibilities will include planning, implementing, conducting and evaluating a broad educational program for the Green Industry and the Vegetable and Small Fruit Growers. This includes maintaining and expanding existing horticulture programs, supervising programs delivered by program assistants, building private industry collaborations and partnerships, managing an expanding revenue enhancement portfolio and establishing a professional development plan.
