The Greenbank Farm Training Center (GFTC) on Whidbey Island, WA has expanded its farmer training programming and is now accepting applications for the 2011 season.

Are you, or someone you know, hoping to start a small organic farm? Do you need to improve your production skills and develop a business plan before taking that next step? Have you apprenticed or worked on a farm but not participated in the planning, accounting or managerial aspects?
The GFTC offers two programs designed for participants who are committed to pursuing a career in sustainable agriculture and desire a thorough academic and experiential education in the business and production aspects of organic small-scale farming. With an emphasis on fresh vegetable production and CSA marketing, we examine all aspects of starting and running a small-scale organic farm from goal setting and business planning to planting, harvesting, and marketing. Our goal is to give you the skills and knowledge you need to confidently enter the growing field of sustainable agricultural producers.
