a year of no flying

Posted: October 22 2009

we just received this note from an old friend, Anirvan.  There's some great stuff here.

Views from the porthole

My wife and I are traveling in Japan (part of a year we're spending meeting green activists in Asia and Europe), and we discovered a bunch of really exciting work being done on the consumer side of food movements, in the heart of urban Tokyo.
We blogged about this at http://www.YearOfNoFlying.com/
I'd love it if you could pass that around to folks who might be interested. There's a really different perspective around the "food question" here (deep local food cultures, heavy imports, very limited access to certified organics, incredible urbanization and density), and it's been fascinating hearing folks talk about that.
Thanks!
