WESTERN LONG ISLAND - The Nassau Land Trust is seeking a farmer to operate an organic educational farm at the former Grossmann Farm in Malverne, NY, a few miles outside of Queens on Long Island.  The property consists of 4.5 +/- acres of arable farmland surrounded by a dense suburban neighborhood and adjacent to the Malverne Long Island Rail Road Station and downtown Malverne.  Historically, vegetables and flowers were grown on the Grossmann farm and regional farms were sold direct to local consumers.  The property is being purchased by Nassau County to be preserved as agricultural land and overseen by the Nassau Land Trust.  Great potential for a vegetable farmer interested in establishing his/her own CSA and/or farm stand.  To request more information about this opportunity and to submit your cover letter, resume, and three references, send an email to [email protected].
