The New Farmers Almanac returns for 2015, with a diverse and delightful set of submissions already in hand. If you have promised us a piece of writing, please push it to us as well-polished and quickly as you can. Spend your morning time on it please! Focus, the season will swirl you away once again before you can share what insights a season of thinking has yielded.

Our participatory mapping project Serve Your Country Food has finally found its form, a drupal site that welcomes visitors to add their own farms, organizational resources, amtrak stations, waldorf schools, revived grange halls... Over the years we've struggled with buggy, cobbled hacks-- finally it is good.

Grange Future
March 7, SHED: A Modern Grange

Grange Future is a community history project undertaken by Greenhorns Severine Fleming and Jen Griffith, with illustrations by Christin Ripley.
We have been researching the history of the grange movement and interviewing current grangers about the revivals taking place across the country. Grange Future is a project of discovering the syllabus of appropriate community actions: social kinship, economic cooperation, and resistance against monopoly.  We are still in the muddy middle of building the archive and website.

Up Up Farm
The Greenhorns is thrilled announce Up Up! Farm, a new series of films that continue the conversation about new entrants in American agriculture.
The films featured in Up Up! Farm are all indie documentaries and shorts that explore questions of farmland access, agricultural careers and rural dynamics. They feature entering farmers from across the US and beyond.
Available for purchase in mid-February 2014, the complete film festival package includes a DVD set, screening rights, promotional materials (posters! flyers! stickers!), as well as a screening guide and resources that empower independent organizers to build and host an inspired, and successful film festival.
Our film line up includes: Tune for the Blood, American Meat, Brookford Almanac, The Greenhorns,Our Land, Sourlands, Rural Routes Shorts, Farm Hack Shorts, Future Farmers in the Spotlight, Small Farm Rising, and Pig Business (among others).
