Women Caring for the LandSM Professional Development Seminar

WFAN is offering a professional development seminar to Iowa conservation professionals on improving outreach to women farmland owners. The training is based on WFAN's successful Women Caring for the LandSM program, which has reached more than 500 women farmland owners since 2009 in seven upper Midwestern states with conservation and risk management information designed just for them. The training is free and will include a 90-page meeting facilitation guide and samples of print materials targeted to women farmland owners. Lunch is provided. Only 25 participants can be accommodated (you may work for an agency or a non-profit organization with a conservation focus). Workshops will cover topics including leasing, fencing and drainage law, how to work with a tenant, negotiating with wind developers, and maintaining healthy soil and water.
