The event will feature a Chili Cook-Off with Green String interns, staff, local restaurants and fellow farmers participating, as well as farm tours, crop swap, music, dancing, and fun!
Chili tasting, accompanied by Green String cornbread, will begin at 5 pm and continue till it runs out. Join as judge and taster for $10.00 or enroll as a contestant by emailing greenstringchilicookoff@gmail.com and get a chance to win up to $100.00 cash prize!
Come early, take a tour of the farm (tour offered every 30 minutes), head over to the Crop Swap and exchange your favorite fruit or vegetable, network with agricultural enthusiasts in our community, visit our farm store, and enjoy an evening of good Contra music and dancing in the barn.
The Contra Dance will be held in the barn from 6 to 8pm with local musicians The West Running Rounders. Come have fun and learn group dances to your favorite traditional American folk tunes. All are welcome, beginning dancers and experts, young and old.
Additionally, there will be information tables hosted by various local organizations and members of our agricultural community. If you are interested in setting up an info-booth, please email [email protected] or respond directly to this email.
