The New Connecticut Farmers Alliance - Winter Farm Tour
Posted: December 4 2011
The New Connecticut Farmers Alliance continues its winter series of monthly farm tours with a visit to Hunts Brook Farm in Quaker Hill on Thursday December 8th. With several years of previous farm experience under their belts, farmers Nicole Totino and Paul Clark are co-farming this season with the farm’s owners, Rob and Teresa Schacht on their 80 acre family farm, of which 2 ½ acres are cultivated in vegetables, flowers, herbs, and berries.
After a healthy first season farming together, Nicole and Paul will share the inspiration behind their move to Hunts Brook Farm and how they are working to make their business financially sustainable for all involved.
The event begins with a farm tour at 3:00pm, followed by a potluck. The event will end at 5:30pm. The tour will be held at 108 Hunts Brook Road Quaker Hill, CT 06375. Space is limited and RSVP is required. Reserve your spot by emailing [email protected] or call 860.318.6813.
The New CT Farmers Alliance aims to bring together emerging and established farmers from across Connecticut to identify and develop support systems and structures to nurture a successful and diverse agricultural landscape in our state. For more information visit www.newctfarmers.com
