Connect Your Career and Your Heart --- Organic Farming Champions Wanted (locations: virtually-officed/national and Wisconsin)
The Cornucopia Institute is a farm policy research group focused on research and education. We are one of the most preeminent and aggressive organic and sustainable food and farming watchdogs. We seek to protect the integrity of the organic food label from governmental regulatory indifference as well as from agribusinesses cutting corners so as to profiteer from unethical and questionable food and agricultural practices. We also work to protect the authenticity of other ways farmers and consumers interact in the marketplace (CSA's, farmers markets, local food and other direct marketing structures).
We are seeking to add the following individuals to our financially stable and growing organization.
Business Operations/Manager and Policy Team Member: We are seeking someone with general ledger experience, business management and HR background who will split their time also doing farm policy work. Click here to read the full job description.
Farm and Food Policy Analyst: We are seeking an individual with a strong background and experience with farm policy, research, writing, organizing, and media. Click here to read the full job description.
Administrative Support/Entry Level Farm Policy Analyst: We are seeking an individual with a strong professional background in office administration (bookkeeping, database, fundraising, technology skills would be desirable), and excellent communication skills, with a heartfelt passion for protecting the environment, the good food movement, humane livestock husbandry and social/economic justice for farmers. Vernon County Wisconsin—On-Call Support Staff: From time to time some of our core-staff become overwhelmed with irregular workload. During certain times of the year we have research or extra database tasks and/or are just challenged opening mail, sending thank you notes, data entry and other processing. We pay attractive wages for competent and dedicated help during those periods of time. If you have a flexible schedule and are interested in this type of work, supporting family farmers and the good food movement, please send a message of inquiry to [email protected].
