MIT food + ag collaborative

Posted: November 22 2010

they've got an interesting speaker series going on.

The MIT Food and Agriculture Collaborative brings together students – and other MIT community members - to coordinate and support work in the areas of food and agriculture. Members are actively engaged in advocating for and supporting the development of a more sustainable food system on our own campus and in our local community. We also work to enhance MIT’s role in contributing to the broader discourse on agricultural sustainability across the global system.
We have developed an understanding of what work is being done across campus related to food and agriculture, mapped MIT’s agricultural ecosystem, and are pulling together MIT’s “agricultural intelligence”.
The issues members are focusing on range from how the global supply chains of traditional agribusiness firms can be more sustainable to the development of local urban food systems.
Members are actively engaged in advocating for and supporting the development of a more sustainable food system on our own campus. We also work to enhance MIT’s role in contributing to the broader discourse on agricultural sustainability across the global system.
