land opportunity in MA

A note from the landowner:
Dear Farmers, Would-be Farmers, and Friends of Farmers --
My wife and I own the core portion of what was once Summit Farm, in Mount Washington. We own 16 acres, mostly pasture and a farm pond. There is a large beautiful barn from the 1850s and a small not-so-beautiful barn from the 1950s. There is also a three-story, 2100 sq ft residence we built in 2007-2008. It is in a lovely setting.
I have just accepted a job in Washington DC. Sadly, we won’t be able to get up to the farm very often. We’re looking for someone to rent the house and – ideally – to do some small-scale organic farming or grazing. The rent would be modest, and even more modest for a person or persons committed to food production and care of the land.
If intrigued by this offer, please visit the farm and have a look around. The address is 1 West Street Mt Washington 01258, close to the NY State Line. (That portion of West Street is an extension of what’s called Sunset Rock Road in Copake Falls NY.) The house is light brown with green trim and a metal roof.
Once you’ve looked around, please e-mail (cnugent at jmkfund.org) me with ideas or questions. I will actually be there on Wednesday 30 May (post-11am) and would welcome the chance to speak with any interested parties.
Thank you.
