kinderhook new farmer event

Posted: August 18 2012

The Kinderhook Memorial Library will celebrate the arrival of the New Farmer Narrative Project exhibit: Journeys into Farming with a free film screening of the award-winning new farmer documentary GROW! The event will be followed by a Q&A with local new farmers on Tuesday, August 21st at 7pm.

GROW! captures the excitement, inspiration and perseverance of a new generation of farmers striving to create diverse, sustainable farms and build more personally fulfilling lives.  Filmed throughout Georgia and just released in 2011, this hour-long film tells the compelling story of new farmers through “the eyes, hearts and minds of 20 passionate, idealistic and fiercely independent young growers.”
The New Farmer exhibit is a photo- and story-based display created from interviews and farm tours conducted by the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program, and will be at the Kinderhook Library from August 14th to August 25th.
