Black Fox Farm (Montville3)
Black Fox Farm in Montville, Maine is seeking 2 full-time live-in farm workers or a couple for the 2013 growing season. We are looking for individuals with at least one-year prior experience working on a farm and with a basic understanding of organic vegetable production. The ideal candidates would also have some basic experience around livestock and the ability/willingness to drive a large manual transmission truck down to Portland for deliveries. Chainsaw experience a plus. Work would be mostly geared toward the veggies with lots of weeding, hoeing, transplanting, harvesting and packing produce. Some help with animal chores and moving/building fencing would also be required. The schedule would consist of 10-hour days Tuesday-Saturday, and covering chores for us on Sundays.

Compensation: $100/week stipend and separate living quarters in the upstairs of our traditional farmhouse. Separate entrance and kitchen space available with shared bathroom/shower/ and laundry.  Veggies, eggs and milk as well as some bulk staple foods provided.
Opportunities to use our equipment- including a bucket tractor, power tools, and garage space, as well as garden/pasture space available to the right individual. We think this could be a good opportunity for someone looking to get started with their own operation and in need of the space and resources to do so. We are open to someone growing their own crops or livestock here and have some flexibility in our schedule to accommodate this.
