Posted: December 5 2008

We've just heard from the Local Food Project at Ailie, a fabulous food & farming gardenworkshopinitiative in Warrenton, VA.  The The project consists of an organic culinary garden which supplies fresh, sustainable herbs, vegetables, fruits and flowers to the kitchen of The Airlie Foundation & Conference Center. (Read more about the foundation here.)

This January 9th, they'll be hosting an all day event introducing two unique farms, Essex, New York's Essex Farm, a year-round CSA (with lots more than just vegetables), and Burlington, Vermont's Half Pint Farm which sits on a reclaimed urban waste site and supplies many area restaurants.
pablo1Check out the Local Food Project's blog "Sixteen Foot Ladder" for more information on these farms, and other local food news from Virginia.
