fundraiser for farmers affected by Irene

Posted: October 20 2011
This event was organized by our energetic and dedicated intern, Ines Chapela.  Great work, Ines.
Come celebrate the work of Hudson Valley farmers and be flavored by local chefs cooking an all local dinner to raise funds for two great area farms! Taliaferro Farm a CSA farm in New Paltz and RSK Farm the biggest heirloom potato farm in the Hudson Valley. These farms have lost over 70% of their crop, during peak harvest when Irene rolled through. In general 140,000 acres of NY Farm land was damaged with state estimates of 1 billion dollars in total damage. This is our local sustainable food system and it took a hit, so lets show our support, bring a friend, a date, a farmer or a piglet and LET'S EAT!
