Posted: October 19 2009

Greenhorns, the organization Seeking Common Ground is looking for a farm manager. Terrific opportunity.
Farm Manager Wanted: See(k)ing Common Ground, Inc (SCG) is a non-profit educational organization that models more restorative ways of life.

This includes Shimmering Light Community Garden, Fingerlakes Farm-to-Cafeteria, and Herb Haven serving women and children on the path to self-sufficiency.
We have 21 stunning, fertile acres available for the expansion of our community farm in South Bristol, NY, overlooking Canandaigua Lake. All the resources are here: a thriving community of support, Great Barn, greenhouse, apartment, tractor, root cellar, all the tools of the trade.
We are seeking an experienced ecological farm manager to co-develop and steward the farm, with future land tenure potential. The farm expansion could become part of SCG or it could become an independent business based on the interest, abilities and dreams of our new farmer.
The position requires very strong skills in some forms of ecological agriculture (organic, biodynamic, permaculture, no-till, homa, etc), communications and project management.
We encourage those who experience farming as a source of spiritual/social renewal and desire to work in a community-collaborative atmosphere to contact us for further discussion at [email protected]
