farmer-mentor conference

Posted: January 12 2011

There's a terrific conference coming up if you're on the West Coast, or can get there.

The North American Biodynamic Apprenticeship Program invites all biodynamic and organic farmers to participate in its third annual Farmer-Mentor workshop, "The Art and Business of On-Farm Mentoring," which will be held February 4th-6th at Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, CA.The conference is designed to be valuable for any farmer who has apprentices or interns, regardless of whether your farm is biodynamic, organic, or just using sustainable practices. The workshop has two themes: the business and legal issues of having apprentices on your farm, and the art of mentoring adults in a farm setting. Please see the conference flier for the conference schedule, speakers and a registration form. Travel and lodging assistance are available.
The North American Biodynamic Apprenticeship Program combines two years of structured on-farm training and mentoring with a course of classroom study to provide a comprehensive education and certification in biodynamic farming.
