2 urban farm jobs in pittsburgh, PA

Posted: January 20 2012

No Longer Accepting Applications, Thank You!
Garden Dreams is a small, community-oriented business committed to increasing access to healthy, fresh food by providing strong vegetable starts to home gardeners, community gardens, nonprofits, and schools.
Garden Dreams is located on 2 reclaimed vacant lots in Wilkinsburg, near Pittsburgh’s East End.  We specialize in heirloom varieties of tomato, pepper, and eggplant seedlings and also grow produce that is sold to area restaurants and at our farm stand.
Jobs:  We have 2 seasonal positions open starting in March and April 2012.  We are looking for people to work in a friendly small business environment, who can handle repetitive work while staying productive (seeding!), and are interested in the idea of growing food in an urban setting.  Familiarity with growing plants is helpful but not required. Job duties may include: seeding, potting up seedlings, watering, working in the garden, and moving trays of seedlings and bags of soil.  We will be working indoors and out, so rain gear and boots are necessary.
If you are interested, please contact:  [email protected] for more information.  Please include "Employment" in the subject heading.   Send along a resume, where you live, and why you are interested. Thank you!
