Imagine a PLACE that brings new farmer development and farm incubation together with community food, agricultural and environmental education.  The FIRST URBAN FARM INCUBATOR in the country that will serve aspiring urban farmers and those looking to eventually relocate and scale up their farm business on peri-urban or rural farmland.  And right IN NYC ON 15-20 ACRES of National Park Services land at historic Floyd Bennett Field in the Jamaica Bay area of Brooklyn.  With a commitment to SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, ECONOMIC AND FOOD JUSTICE.

Recent milestones:
Thanks to our September and December stakeholder planning meetings and the guidance of our planning facilitator, Aley Kent, we now have Leadership, Farmability, Outreach and Fundraising committees meeting regularly to move the project forward.
We have moved the ball forward on a formal agreement with National Parks Service for the 1/2 acre farm trial and NPS is committed to our spring launch. 
We just finished filming our video for a Kickstarter fundraising campaign.  Thank you to everyone who contributed, especially Claire Ince and Ancil McKain for sharing your talent and skill with the Floyd Bennett Farm project.
We completed our funders proposal and have strong interest from at least two major NYC funders.
David Vigil organized a public engagement workshop at the Just Food Conference on 2/25.  It was a full house and resulted in many new ideas and we hope some new active planning team members.
We are now the proud owners of the web domainfloydbennettfarm.org and are developing a project website.
